Here are my tips on how to lose 1 Stone in 8 weeks without exercise! I did it on the run up to my Christmas Holidays to Andorra and it was pretty easy and attainable! 1 Stone, 14 pounds, 6.35kg – whichever way you want to put it! It might not seem like a lot but it really is, and it makes you feel so much better once it’s gone!
After the festive season of constant eating and drinking, who else feels like they now weigh 53923 stone!!? I certainly do!! So now that we’re back to reality, what better way to kickstart the new year to a new, healthier and sexier you!
Below are my tips and what worked for me! I’ll be starting again from today to lose this Christmas Weight fast! Best of Luck x
Having an event or holiday to work towards is a great way of keeping yourself in check! Especially if you’re counting down to a Holiday or your Bridesmaid duties. Maybe the struggle to fit into your size 10 jeans is motivation enough! There’s little room for error in 8 weeks so you need to be strict if 8 weeks is the goal you have in mind.
Plan & Prepare
Check your calendar! Don’t start just because it’s January 1st, or because it’s a Monday. Chances are you’ll be starting again the following Monday otherwise. Check your calendar for important gatherings or nights out where you know could mean a few days of indulgent eating and drinking and maybe add an extra week into your plan to balance this out! Don’t sacrifice your nights out or dinner plans with the girls, just make up for it! You’ll also need to learn how to prepare your meals so get those lunch boxes out!
Start with a Friend
It’s SO much easier when you have a friend to motivate you and keep you in check! My friend Clara and I both downloaded an app that recorded our progress and we screenshot each other the highs and the lows! It’s not fun when your friend loses half a kilo and you’ve gained one! It’s also good to share your tips and tricks!
Keep track of the Scales
Seeing as you have a ‘goal’ which is based on the number on the scales, it’s important to keep an eye on them, but not daily! Otherwise you aren’t going to know what’s working for you or not! I downloaded an app called Weightdrop and it’s great for keeping track and showing your progress towards your goal! Only check the scales and log it once a week though, and at the same time and day! Morning time is obviously best!
Eat Clean & 5 Times a Day
No processed foods, and only minimal amounts of dairy and gluten products! Only clean and nutritious goodness, and Paleo friendly foods! Eat little and often, it really does work and keeps you from snacking on bad foods throughout the day! And I don’t mean live on salads or deprive yourself. I stay clear from Dairy and opt for Gluten Free options where possible. It’s not as easy as it sounds, so If you check out my Lifestyle section I have plenty of tips on how to kickstart a clean lifestyle, and my top kitchen essentials for healthy eating! I’ll continue to add tips to this section throughout the year!
2 – 3 litres of Water / Lemon Water daily
I mentioned the benefits of this in my post about how to kickstart a clean lifestyle, and it was my saviour throughout the 8 weeks! Water is essential and Lemon Water satisfied my craving for sugar rich drinks, along with the health benefits of Lemon too! I’d have 1/2 a litre in the morn, 1 – 1.5 during work & the rest in the eve!
It’s important not to indulge in alcohol throughout this 8 weeks! As I mentioned, check your calendar & if you have any events or nights out just add an extra week or eat extra clean the following days! Unfortunately with nights out comes hungover eating and if you’re anything like me this occurs for 2 days!! Ouch.
Bootea Tea Detox
This is great to kickstart your 8 weeks! I also used this the 2 weeks before my holidays for an extra push to my goal! It really kept me motivated because who wants to spend almost €30 on Tea and see no results! The beginning is hard because your body is craving everything you’re suddenly depriving it of! But once you see results you’ll be determined to keep with it. And this Tea will give you the results nice and quick at the start! I’ve posted my review and personal results of the 14 Day Bootea Tea Detox if you want to check it out!
25 Grams of Protein for Lunch
I hope you like Eggs or Chicken Fillets! Otherwise this probably won’t work out so well for you. Above I mentioned eating clean and 5 times a day. For one of my 5 meals every day, my lunch to be specific, I ate 2 Boiled Eggs. Nothing more, nothing less. My friend suggested this as she was advised on the run up to her wedding to eat around 25grams of Protein for her lunch. I chose 2 Boiled Eggs rather than a Boiled Chicken fillet! This might not sound filling but it really was. If you’re eating 5 times a day this is plenty to tide you over until the next meal. I ate these every day for 8 weeks. I don’t know the health benefits of this or why it worked for me, but it did!
Morning Green Smoothie
As one of my five a day I drank a homemade Green Smoothie on the way to work or just as I arrive in work! Here’s a post on my typical Morning Green Smoothie recipe! Healthy mix of fruit and veg with the added secret ingredient of Spirulina! It might look not so nice but it’s delish!! It’s the Spirulina that makes it the mank green colour!
As I mentioned above, this is what worked for me! I can’t promise it will do the same for you, you may lose more or you may lose less! It really depends on your dedication and how clean you actually eat! Exercise will definitely bring you to your goal quicker, even some walks in the evening! If you want to continue past a stone I would definitely suggest exercise to help you tone and get fit!
I’ve been learning to eat clean for almost a year now, and have gathered lots of kitchen tools to help me on my way. I also know what my body can and cannot eat. If you don’t have an understanding of what clean eating is then this can be a difficult challenge! I make my sauces from scratch, I don’t eat anything processed, every meal pretty much starts out raw. I don’t have takeaways and I’ve spent a lot of time and money figuring out substitutions and trialling recipes! Keep an eye on my Lifestyle section for my tips and tricks!
After your 8 week challenge I would like to think you would want to continue eating clean, if that’s the case I would suggest dropping the Bootea and the Eggs and replace with regular exercise and introduce cheat meals! The above is a quick fix but it can be quickly undone if you get back to over indulging straight away!
Losing 1 Stone maye not seem like alot, but here’s some perspective! Here are some things that weigh approx. 14 pounds: A 19inch flat screen TV, a Bowling Ball, and a Mastiff Puppy! Let’s not carry around any one of those anymore thanks!!
Any questions along the way do feel free to comment below or email me!
Good luck! x
