Homemade Healthy Pizza

homemade healthy pizza

If you want to cheat clean and pizza is your thing then here is probably the most delicious way to have a pizza without the calories of a Dominos! Anytime I make these on Snapchat they go down a treat so it was about time I popped the recipe up here. My boyfriend likes them too and it can be hard convincing him to eat something that’s considered ‘clean’

Recipe

  • 1 x Tortilla Wrap
  • 2 heaped tablespoons of Passata (99%+ tomatoes)
  • Handful grated cheese
  • Toppings of Choice
    • Red Onion
    • Mixed Peppers
    • Egg
    • Prosciutto Ham
    • Mozzarella
    • Pineapple
    • Pepperoni
    • Olives
    • Jalapenos
    • Sundried Tomatoes

You can of course make your own homemade tomato sauce with tinned tomatoes, garlic, basil and tomato puree, and you could also use vegan cheese to make it a much cleaner recipe. Choose your toppings carefully if you’re counting calories too!

Uncooked (Ham, Peppers, Egg) – Cooked – Another Topping Option (Pepperoni, Red Onion, Pineapple)

Process

  • Place your tortilla wrap in a small dry frying pan and place on the hob
  • Add your Passata or homemade tomato sauce to your tortilla wrap, (whilst in the pan) then the cheese, and then the rest of you toppings of choice.
  • Allow to heat and then pop into the oven at 180 for about 10 – 15 mins (keeping an eye!)
  • It’s that easy! Enjoy

Alternative bases

  • You could try make a cauliflower base – but it’s quite a bit of effort and you need to make sure the cauliflower is completely dry (using a cloth) before using it as a base or it will fall apart
  • A chicken fillet slices in half length ways and opened into a butterfly shape also makes a good base
  • Turkey Burgers as a base to make mini pizza (or meatzza as they are called)
  • There are lots of wraps you can use also – spinach / sweet potato / wholewheat etc
